Can you make/buy wire disconnects for speaker boxes? I have a sealed sub box and would like to move it out of the Blazer sometimes. It takes up too much room when I need to haul stuff around. Is this possible? Where would I get these from? I have yet to ever see them at any places around here... thanks....

Box builders use them all the time. They're just called speaker terminals. I get mine from http://www.partsexpress.com

most boxes you buy have a quick connect push button style connection on them.... now the problem is if you disconnect there and forget to make sure the speaker wire isnt discontected also then you fry your amp... (hate it when that happens)...

It's not the speakers so much, it's the amp I need the connects for. I found some and they want $25 for one? Yeah right...think I will rig up something for that cost. That's insane!

Find a hobby shop that carries "Sermos Power-Pole" connectors for R/C cars & trucks. They have silver-plated contacts, super-low voltage loss, and they're fairly cheap, too.

Just go to your local AutoZone, Home Depot, Wal-Mart, etc. They carry them in packs of 20 or so, $2.99 a pack. I used quick disconnects for every connection in my system.

I think I must be retarded... I cannot find them? I want basically a plug type thing. When I can unplug the wire and then plug it back in... I cannot find them anywhere! I find things that you stick the wires in...one in one end, one in the other and snap it closed. Then pop it open take the wires out and there you go to undo it... Not what I want though. I want it like an actual plug like two RCA jack type style plugs...all I can find is ones I have to do tons of splicing together and I don't want to be cutting and splicing wires all over the place! Is that too much to ask for or am I outta luck here? Like I said, Sermos connectors. They're made for R/C car batteries, which get unplugged after every run to get charged. These things are good for like 200A at 12V with a VERY small current loss. You should be able to find them at any decent hobby shop that carries R/C car & truck stuff.

I've never seen these at Radio Shack. They're specifically designed for R/C car, truck, and airplane battery and motor connections. Even some hobby shops that sell cars, etc. don't carry them. If you can't find a shop near you that carries them, try http://www.towerhobbies.com. Go to "car & truck accessories", then "battery connector/bar/accessories", then scroll down to "DuraTrax Power Pole Connectors".

Radio shack sells speaker enclosure terminals. Or I can get them for you and ship them to you. I work at a stereo shop.

I would not recommend the use of the Radio Shack speaker terminals: they are far from air tight...
