Does anybody even care? Only reason I even noticed was the foreigners at work freaking out. Particularly the English and the Germans. Anybody have any predictions? I put $10 in the pot to get in on the action.

    *Looks around room* Nope!
I would rather watch a Senior PGA golf tournament over soccer.

i don't really care... soccer is pretty far down the totem pole here in the US. I'd like to see the US team (someday) pull off a miracle run and win the cup... but mainly to annoy the elitist eurotrash. :thumb:

Honestly. If you thought that they would burn some cars in Paris over police brutality, just think of the carnage that would result from USA winning the world cup.

    not even.

in hockey you are rewarded for knocking someone on their ass.
in soccer, you get a red card ...?

in hockey the goaltender has a fighting chance 1 on 1 with a shooter
in soccer, you could drive a fright train through the net without hitting the "keeper"

in hockey, fighting happens on the field
in soccer it happens in the stands :doah:

    in hockey men are men
in soccer ... we'll lets just say they are "euro's"

My buddy works for a company that maked tennis courts. Yesterday the who operation had to shut down because noe of the Dominicans showed up because of the World CUp. I'll watch it, but only towards the end....

Soccer is stupid. A tough game, just not interested. Hope Germany and USA kick some ass. Heard they built a special jail just for over zealous fans.

    Firearms...the original USA sport!

    Lmao :haha:

I LOVE the world cup. I played soccer all 4 years of high school and my teammates and I stayed up till 2 or 3 in the morning to watch all the US games during the last one. I hope France gets knocked the **** out in the first round again, and if Mexico gets wiped out immediately too that would just tickle my pickle.

With the prospect of the french tearing their own country apart if they lose and we win I would think you guys would be sending money, booze and virgins to the US team :D

I could never get into watching soccer. I absoutely LOVED playing the sport, though. I played for about 13 seasons when I was in school. Watching it is about as exciting as watching grass grow.......

I used to play in grade school & HS, and pretty much agree. I still like to go to games, but no way I could sit through a whole one on TV. I'll watch parts and highlight, but that's about it.

Apparently the Americans playing in the world cup didn't really care either. Got skunked by the Czech Republic. 3 to nothing.
