Thats a Liebherr KL2450. Built in Newport News, Virginia. Load capacity is 250 tons or half a million pounds. /forums/images/graemlins/yikes.gif /forums/images/graemlins/peace.gif /forums/images/graemlins/waytogo.gif

[/ QUOTE ] They are HUGE!!! /forums/images/graemlins/yikes.gif The diesels that run the generators on them sound like dinosuars or something. I used to work for a comapny that installed equipment on mine sites all over the world. The first few times I was around the haul-pacs, dozers, and scoops, it kinda freaked me out. They are so stinikin' HUGE! You can't imagine it unless you see it in person.

Once in Cananea, Mexico, they were towing a haul-pac to the shop. I don't know what was wrong with it, but as they were coming around a corner, the one being towed swiped one of the site trucks (full size crew cab truck). It knocked the truck over like it was made of feathers /forums/images/graemlins/yikes.gif Seeing that gave me a HEALTHY dose of fear and respect for those things! /forums/images/graemlins/histerical.gif /forums/images/graemlins/waytogo.gif

Now mind you, that truck in the pic is a Cat 797, which is a 400 ton truck, about 1 3/4 times the capacity of that Liebherr, but you still get the size of the shovel, weighs 1400 ton, and is a P&H 4100.
