I just procured an entire electric tailgate from the junk yard, but the motor doesnt work. (go figure) Anyone got one, I will buy it or trade for a manual regulator.

Have you tried applying power directly to the motor? There's a safety interlock switch on the side of the tailgate that prevents the motor from working unless the tailgate is closed.

Yes I had the motor completely out and hooked up a battery. It clicks like its going to turn but doesnt, I believe its got a wire grounded in the windings.

Cool! I just didn't want to see ya spend money on a motor and then find out that it was really a wiring problem.

I've bought brand new Declo door window motors for $45. You might want to call a few parts stores and see how much a new tailgate motor would cost. A brand new one should last another 20 years or so. /forums/images/icons/cool.gif

I've got one. It isn't as strong as a new one, but it does still work. $5 plus shipping.
