My transfer case is leaking where the two halfs mate together. I know the case will have to come out and be taken apart. I just need to know if this is something I may be able to do, or if I should just take it to the shop. And are there any manuals for transfer case maintenance?

My case has leaked since i bought my truck. I don't know of many other people that have this problem but it is a real PITA ! This is of course after two times getting it resealed. Do some searches on the issue. I know a guy explained to me exacly how to do it.

I just keep topping it off and topping it off and topping it off and topping it off and topping it off and topping it off and topping it off and topping it off and topping it off and topping it off and

Same thing here, and have had it resealed twice professionally (after I resealed it and it didn't work!) I just keep putting in new, fresh fluid!! [IMG]

I think mine leaks too, so I'm just going to swap it out for an NP 205.

I saw a really neat leak proofing system on a 208 once - the guy took a die grinder and milled out a small groove along the case seam, then filled the seam and groove with RTV. it still looked decent, and worked pretty well to boot.

If the shoe fits, get another one just like it
