how much have some of you dropped your x-member???i dropped mine 2"w/1/8"sq tube.for a 6 'lift.the problem is that i cant pull it down to 1st gear.i found the culprit, its an easy fix.the pivot point of the shifter on the frame is at too much angle to the tranny.it binds up and wont go to 1st.im gonna add that to my take care of list.im just wonderin if i may have gone overkill.its just the slipyoke at the back of the 208,i dont like em.i prefer the slip in the shaft.im concerned about it binding.im gonna leave the 2" in there im just curious how much yall dropped yours.BTW i plan on 2 more inches in the near future.

You should not lower your transfer case more than 3/4" or 1". That would be plenty for a six inch lift.

  5. What I did was drop the X-member 2" and then raise the tranny 1" which ends up with a 1" drop, but more room for the front shaft. I would not reccomend going anymore than 1".

I think I heard this will put a lot of stress on your motor mounts. Wouldn't be surprised if you have fan hitting shroud problems too...

I gotta agree w/ the 1" choice. Everytime I have seen guys go more something bad happens... whether the fan hitting, mounts breaking or driveline stuff schreading. I'd say you are definetly in/heading into CV shaft territory w/ the lift and tires you're going... so leave the t-case at stock hieght and get a couple CV's made up... no vibration worries and no replacing u-jt's every 3 months [IMG]. I'm going w/ a CV for my 6" lift just so I can avoid the vibes... sick of vibrations LOL.

I think I mis-read your first post. I thought you said you had already dropped 2 inches and was going to go 2 more..

I used to have that luxury. We had about half of a 100x70 garage with air, presses, torches, welders, etc..... Now I just have my gravel driveway! :(
