Just needed to vent and let ya'll know that the Jimmy passed Pa State Inspection. I was a little worried that it would not pass. Pa Inspection is about as bad as California smog laws and the good news is I have a few inches left on bumper height.

    Cool!!
I hear ya about the Ca laws, but just a couple of years the exempt year change to 73 or 74, can't remember, but I'm 72 so now i'm exempt[IMG]. Before I had a 'smog kit' I would put on for the test every 2yrs.
    Congrats!

Just got mine inspected too... I've never had them check for emissions.. then again on mine they only checked the headlights and horn [IMG]. Thats the benefit of taking it to your dads customer haha. If I would have taking it else where it would have been close. My tires are thin and my ebrake is not hooked up.

I thought it would be a problem with the ground calipers or the shackel flip but he did not have to pull the wheels to check the brakes and the flip is no problem. The place I take my stuff to get done is pretty good and they know I used to do Pa Inspections about 10 years ago but the laws have changed some since I did them. Another thing that helps is the guy that owns the place has a Hummer kit on a Burb frame sitting on 37's.

Congratulations! Mine failed the PA sniffer test last June and I've been driving it ever since. Guess I shouldn't have taken off that air pump when I put on the headers.

If you don't mind me asking where you took it I would appreciate it. For emissions, did they do the sniffer test and visual inspection?

I live in Gettysburg and don't have to worry about emissions. They only do emissions around Pittsburg and Philly. The guy that inspected it and I were talking about emissions state wide and he said it will be a while till they do it so taking the converter off should not be any problem for me.

I also just talked to my neighbor a few minutes ago and he used to own a shop and do inspections and said the caliper grinding is fine too since there is no written law that said you can't grind them.[IMG] He has been keeping tabs on my truck during the build up and was over here when I was grinding them and said it should pass and now I know why.

    That's great Wayne! [IMG]

Steve are you sure they are going to lower the exempt year? I heard (actually read it in Sac Bee a few months ago) it was staying put and if anything they might drop it down so anything from 1970 up will have to be smogged... reason being the state sees a chance to cash in and we all know how much this state loves to get us for every dime they can.... plus if ol' Davis gets in there we will be smogged even worse. He sure is a moron and gets bought off easy and creates messes and swears they were like that when he came into office and has no clue how that ever happened...... but I'm willing to bet they do something stupid if they can figure out how to squeeze some change out of you....
