So, I'm on this forum for J-body cars right? And I ask if anyone's bothered calculating the roll centers for stock and/or lowered cars to give me a good idea with what I'm working.

    No ****?

    My response...

    STFU and move along, thanyouverymuch.

If you've got no idea what someone's talking about, why post useless information only to make yourself sound like a dumb****?

It's called the lounge, we do it all the time, now if only you could write a program to do my materials homework for me.

My big thing was this was in a suspension-specific forum. I'm sitting here trying to figure out how to calculate camber curves using very specific adjustments, and that guy has to go and look like a dumb****.

Materials, eh? I'll be doing some research soon on alternative anti-roll bar construction for this application (maintaining spring rate with less material weight).

    mmmm...mechanics of materials...

but back on topic...ummm...i really dont think that most j body enthusiasts are all that bright (no offense). now if you asked about neon underbody lights or who makes a chrome "intake" for it, you would get a million responses.

ive got an old issue of Chevy high performance at home, remember them doing some stuff to an ecotec j body, coilovers, big brakes, swaybars poly engine mounts etc etc, may want to check that out

Gah, exactly. The J-car isn't exactly your ideal race car platform, but I think with enough research I might be able to get it to handle decently.

But yeah, I've got all the bases covered: stiffer motor/tranny mounts, better clutch, HO manifold swap, header, exhaust, lightweight race wheels on the way.

Now it's just down to suspension tweaking within the SCCA rules.

Not quite really, I'm in "engineering materials" at the moment and will be in mechanics next semester. My course now is more about atomic and crystal structure, defects, etc. Next semester we get into stress and bending point diagrams, material applications, things of that sort. I honestly can't wait to get into that course and thermodynamics.

    Ohhh here's another good post!!!

Nothing about track altitude, 60 foot times, trap speed, launch RPM, launch method, comments about wheelspin/wheelhop or anything.

God I want to stab these kids in the face.

Maybe, but at least I'll still remember how to calculate cylinder volume when I graduate unlike your unnamed genius of the week. :haha:
