I don't see the problem, or how it corrolates to the high pump prices...

That has been around for a while now in a country with a lot of wealth. Looks to me like a lot of people got to make some serious coin building that...likely a lot of foreign companies.

Have you seen the man made islands they've been working on there? Bloody amazing IMO. I like when those with money choose to spend it on stuff like that. Better than a military build-up or funding terrorists any day.

    I'd really like to...

I recently watched some show on the whole island building project on discovery channel, and still can't get over the enormity of what they built in that short of a time frame. Sure goes to show that for some things if you throw enough money at it amazing things can be accomplished. From what I saw they threw a staggering amount of money at those islands...

With the ski place, didn't they test the welds after they were all done, and have to go back and re-do them all?

Last I heard those islands were having erosion problems, but maybe that's why the "bubbles" around them...

I saw two Lamborghini Murcialago's parked next to each other at the mall in Dubai UAE. They aren't getting rich off of oil though:rolleyes:

Dubai is where rich Arabs go to $pend lots of ca$h and enjoy life... because where they come from might be both less nice and less free. They have more sky-scraper building cranes in Dubai right now than any other city. Worlds tallest building is being built there too. Right now they are sort of like manhatten in the 1920s... buildings going up hella fast and all over the place. The empire state building, for example was complete, sans interior finishing work, in about 6 months. Thats crazy fast considering where it was being built (traffic/logistics!) and how large it is.

These days we drag ass like a bunch of Euro trash. Hell, the local airport (PDX), they have been building it for at least 10 years now, and every year they say it will take another 5! lol!
