Hi guys. I carry a camper with my 78 one ton crew cab 4x4,will a shackle flip work safely or should i just get 4" rear springs? Will the springs de-arch quicker with flip? The camper is about 2900#. Any info would be appreciated.Thanx /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif /forums/images/graemlins/crewcab.gif

I don't see where you will have any problems, the springs shouldn't show decreased life just because of the flip, it's still designed with a rising spring rate so the load carrying will be fine. A lot of this question is the same as the infamous "towing with a shackle flip" question....

Stephan, are you keeping a running tally on how many times you answered that question?

Wasn't actually towing, the question pertained to a slide in camper where the @3000# would be over the axle.Hadn't seen that particular question posted. But i suppose it gets old.
