    Should be Napa #348...that's a 12 bolt (1310) crossed with a 14 bolt (1350).

So, you'll just have to use it differently than how everyone else is using it. The big caps will go in the driveshaft and the smaller caps will go in the axle...most everyone else doing axle swaps use it the other way around.

/forums/images/graemlins/thinking.gifWas your truck equipped with a manual transmission from the factory?
I've read a couple of times now that manual transmission trucks came with 1350 joints/yokes on the 10 bolts.

So, if your truck had an auto tranny from the factory:
The 10 bolt your truck came with had a 1330 joint.

Then you swapped in a 12 bolt which has a 1310 joint. So, your setup then was running a driveshaft with a 1330 joint and a yoke with a 1310. I'm not sure what number that is, but it's neither Napa 348 nor Napa 447.

Now, you're keeping the 12 bolt with the 1310 yoke and putting a driveshaft in that came from a 1350 14 bolt. So, now you'll need the 1350/1310 combo u-joint which is Napa #348.

And, if your truck had a manual tranny from the factory:
The 10 bolt most likely had a 1350 joint. In this case, the parts store was right in wanting to sell you a 348 for your 12 bolt swap.

So, if you're swapping the driveshaft that came on a 1350 10 bolt to a driveshaft that came on a 1350 14 bolt, you can use the u-joint that's currently on the truck - napa 348.

I'm pretty sure you should have the correct u-joint in your truck now. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif Because the 10 bolt driveshaft and the 14 bolt driveshaft both have 1350's...it'll be like bolting up the same d-shaft (which leads me to ask why you're getting the 'burban shaft /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif). Anyways, the joint that should be in there now should be a Napa 348 or some other brand cross-referenced over to that...and that should be the same joint you need for the 14 bolt driveshaft.

    The 348 is a joint for a 1310 to a 1350

    The 447 is a joint for a S44 to 1350.

1330's were never used (well I wont say never) /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif I will say that a lot of people confuse the 1330 for the Saginaw 44 joint.

See this post for any info related to K5 u-joints

See here for lots of info
