It wasn't so bad on the 60, for me at least.
The real PITA was doing it on the 8 lug 10 bolt /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Sounds good, man. Did you use the method in the writeup by Russ, or did you just go at it on your own?

Re: You crazy caliper grinding guy\'s!!!

Yes I followed his write up...

    Kinda...

I read it a week ago and when I did it on saturday I painted the caliper with paint, and shoved the extra 15x10 i bought (no 38 on that one...LOL) and saw where i had to grind...

Took about 4 attempts on the first one and about 25 minutes a piece...

The second one I only had to trial fit the rim once before i got it right1

all in all not too bad!!! /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif /forums/images/graemlins/ignore.gif

Re: You crazy caliper grinding guy\'s!!!

You onlt had to trial fit it 4 times on the first side?
Man, how much material did you remove from the caliper! I think I took mine off and on a good 50 times - no need to remove more material than needed, so I took a little time.
I want to see an after pic. /forums/images/graemlins/ears.gif

Yea you probably do need more grinding, when I got my 60 I was in awe at the sheer size of the calipers. They are huge. So even if it does take a little more, you got a lot more material there then with the 44/10 calipers. Later

Re: You crazy caliper grinding guy\'s!!!

They are huge. When i ground mine a few weeks ago it sucked. I didn't have a spare rim so the 36" TSL came on and off about 30 times on the first side...

The second side I thought would go easier...turns out one of my rims has an extra 1/2" of backspace./forums/images/graemlins/angryfire.gif You can't notice it on the truck, but you sure do notice it when you're grinding calipers!

    LOL...

I thought it would be easier to buy an extra 15x10 rim for 37 bucks than to have to try it with a 38 mounted.. lol...

I can just see you Rene trying ti with your 36's.. I cant even imagine how fun it must have been.... /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif LOL

Beer dulled the pain later... /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

Re: You crazy caliper grinding guy\'s!!!

When I did mine I used a 5in air grinder. Didnt really take too long I dont think. I didnt have a spare rim to toss on tho. I did it w/ a 14 wide wheel and a 38 TSL mounted. THATS the part that was the worst. I ground, painted, mounted and bolted up, spun the wheel, removed, ground, painted, ETC.

Thers a few before and after pics in this album.

Re: You crazy caliper grinding guy\'s!!!

could you move the caliper down with a new mounting plate? If you were able to turn the rotor down is there any room on the inside or the rotors to move the caliper closer to the center.... I just put rear disks on my 14FF and they fit my 15" inch alum rims

    Hey Mike (TX Mudder)
Why was the 10 bolt harder to do than the D60?
I would think a D60 would be harder.
