Ok, the reason I bring this up is that my favorite juice growing up was grape juice. Then I lived in the Republic of China for a while. They had these little food and drink carts that guys pushed around in the cities and towns. One of the drinks they sold was a kind of slushy that was a little less frozen than a Slurpee. My all time favorite there was passionfruit. Once I got back to the States, I couldn't find it anywhere. Sometimes they mix passionfruit with other stuff like mango or orange, but never predominantly passionfruit. A few months ago, I find Welch's passionfruit juice in a carton at Safeway. Granted, it has white grape juice in it too, but the taste is full on passionfruit. I'm in hog heaven now. I put it in a glass in the freezer and take it to slushy stage before I drink it. Hell, I've got the hankering now to head on down to the local asian massage parlor next...........

Im sure they think differently, but I don't consider Taiwann to be China. There was an enthically different population there before Shangkai-Chek (sp Im sure!) showed up with his homies and took the place over.

There was, but they were the indigenious tribes and very small in number. Many of them were killed off by the Japanese, which occupied Taiwan for some time. Taiwan is probably more Chinese than the mainland. When the KMT fled, they took as many of the priceless artifacts that they could get their hands on, not to mention countless writings and other artwork. Most of the doctors, scientists, bankers, lawyers, teachers, and other societal elite were KMT and fled with Chang Kai Shek. When Mao and his "Cultural Revolution" got done, most of the existing artwork and historical documents went up in flames. Any surviving artist or brain trust of Chinese culture was imprisoned and usually killed. As a result, the finest museum of Chinese history resides in Taiwan. The indigenous folks are now living in remote protected reserves, kind of like American Indian reservations. The Mandarin language remains the principle language of the country and their standard of living far exceeds the mainland due to there being a democracy in place (after many years of martial law, as it was when I lived there). Most of the Chinese you run across in the U.S. come not from mainland China, but from Taiwan.
