Re: Your opinion on Impala SS\'s???

    First they were only made 94-96. I have a 94 /forums/images/graemlins/pimp1.gif

All were the 350 LT1 iron heads(the predecessor to the Vortecs). They all had some parts of the 9C1 police package. All were grey leather interior. All had 17" wheels with 255/50R17 Z rated tires. 4L60E trannies. 3.08 gears. 8.5" 10 bolt

See Impala SS forums for a great site with lots of info.

    Quick overview
94 - about 6000 made- only black in color- Side mirrors were small ones attached to the door. Column shifter. Digital speedo

95 - black, dark cherry metallic, green-grey metallic were the colors. Mirrors were attached to the door pillars. Column shifter. Digital speedo

96- same colors- Computer was changed to OBD-2. Changed to floor shifter, analog guages with tach.

This is a quick overview. Check the website above for lots of good info.

unless you plan to mod it that the obd2 will undo all of your mods. obd1 is a much more mod friendly system.

OBD 2 is VERY sensitive and expensive - it is on the Vette and I am thankful that I have an extended warranty!

Very cool car but I will think twice before I buy another OBD 2 car.

Tim "Toolman" Taylor has the coolest one I've ever seen. He had a shop replace the stock engine with a 32-valve, LT5 from a ZR1 Corvette. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif One of the hot rod type mags had a story on it a few years ago. It was a LOT of work to get it to fit, but was badass when it was finished! /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

I was at a car museum in East Tennessee(north of Gatlenburg) about 4 years ago and saw a special edition with a fuel injected 502 in it.It had "official" GM badges on it that stated the eng. size.It had a checker flag design on the badges. It was pretty kewl!
Those cars caught my eye as soon as they came out.First one ever I saw was back in 95 while working in Detroit.I did a whiplash type of head turn and said "what the Frick is that?!
    Beauty car! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I drive a 95 as a unmarked crusier. Seized from a dealer. It's "almost" stock and will flat out fly. Takes off quick and has an unholy top-end.
