Zerk in leaf spring ?

    Can the leaf spring be tapped to install a zerk fitting to grease the leaf spring bushings? It would eliminate having to change the bolts to the greasable type if it will work. Any experience with this?Just an Idea. Thanks, Ron

    The problem with that would be that the grease would go to only where the zerk goes on the inside - there are no channels to distribute it.
    I say just go greasable bolts so the grease goes on the inside where it needs to be. Plus, bolts are frequently reused. You don't know how long you'll keep the same front springs.

    not to mention how hard it would be to drill the leaf spring itself and tap it. That steel is hardened and very tough to attack.

    Thanks everyone the answer from Waxer was what I was looking for. Guess I will buy the bolts . Does anyone know where and how much these are?
