Zirc fitting on belhouseing?

    what is it for, i greased it once, im getting frusterated because i dont know what it is for, can someone please help on this, it is a 87' with a sm465 mated to a np208, thanks in advance.

    Possibly for the pivot on the shift fork?

    could be, i dont know how much grease to push into it /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif, and i dont want to put to much in it and have it get all over the clutch disk and **** me over /forums/images/graemlins/angryfire.gif.

    Thats the only thing it could be for, you won't **** nothing up, just put like 1/2 to one pump of grease if any, most pivot balls don't have that so I wouldn't even worry about it /forums/images/graemlins/usaflag.gif

    Yep, it is for the pivot ball for the shift fork...there is a hollow channel to allow grease to flow from the zerk to the pivot ball where it is then channeled up tpo the pivot head...I usually throw a pump in there after a mud run or when I do the rest of my chassis lube...

    Thats cool that the GM enginers thought of that while they were building the belhouseing. well thanks guys i forgot to grease it while i was under my truck today adjusting my new Reybestos parking brake cable dammit, well i'll get onto it one of these days /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif.
