I ran out of .035 in the Miller 250. I have a 10lb roll of .030 and don't have a liner but for the .035. What if any problems will I have if I use this smallroll before buying another .035 roll?

It can jam up in the liner since the wire is the wrong size for the liner.

You can run .030" in a .035" liner all right. I run .023" all the way up to .045" in both of my machines thru a liner that's good for .052".

Also, when I run any kind of alloy wire, I always run the next size up contact tip so the wire doesn't bind in the tip.

Just make sure your roller on the wire feeder is sized for the wire your using with the correct tension. Use the correct size tip if you're using steel wire or getting consistent welds will be tough.

x3 only problem you'll have is your wire will wander a little more during a weld... other then that make sure you have the right rollers

If the contact tip is the right size you shouldn't notice anything. Roller size and contact tip size are the biggies.

We use .062 liners in all the machines at work. Wire is .035 microwire, and .045 flux core and .045 metal core. Change the rollers and tips...it's all good.

Thanks for the replies guys. Tips and rollers no problem. I just coudn't see swapping the liner for such a small difference in wire.

I've ran .030 in .035 for more then a year now without issue.

BTW: this was in a millermatic 250 as well. I got when they had the special to get a free spool gun with it about 8 years ago.
