I just wanted to pimp my new steering clamp that my buddy made for me. This will have two tabs welded to it for my hydro assist ram to bolt to.

The best part is it was FREE. That is the best price you can get anywhere. The quality of work my buddy does is second to none top quality premium work on every job big or small. :thumb:

You definitely cant beat Free!! Sweeet! Would he be willing to make a few more? If so get me a price. I might be able to move some for him.

If its 1.5 inch ID, I'll take one right now, assuming it's not outragously priced.
PM me thanx

Yes it is 1.5" ID, i will check with him and see if he's interested in making any others. If he is interested in making more then they can be made with whatever ID someone may need but i need to ask him first.

I got cash in my pocket!:D

Ok, i just got off the phone with my buddy and he said he is willing to make more but he first needs to check on material and also how much his EDM guy wants to burn them in half when he's finished with all his machining. He could do the cutting in half himself but it would take longer and cost more so EDM is the way to go. I'll post back up when i get word on pricing. :deal:

maybe its the beer talking but whats the point of this? im just welding tabs directly to my 1.5inch od tie rod. whats wrong with that?

Nothing wrong with that as long as you don't ever need to finely adjust your toe in. If you do need to adjust toe in you will have to either take one tie rod loose and adjust it then hook it back up or disconnect your ram make your adjustment (1 full turn) then hook the ram back up.

All i will need to do is loosen 8 bolts and adjust my tie rod then tighten the 8 bolts.

I was thinking tha same thing as 86CUCV, until this reply. Thanks, that makes complete sense now! I am glad I didn't weld anything to my tie rod to mount the steering damper! That clamp looks nice!
Thanks,
Joshua

Nice part, but those are available ready-made. Search this p/n: 60845K58 (for 1.5" bore) at McMaster $73.00 each for 12L14 or $84.02 for 303 SS.

Yes they are, but FREE is a better price. :D

McMaster has the...
#60845k67 for $72.14 = steel
#60845k88 for $187.94 = stainless steel
