Hi there, long time lurker-rarely post anything. I've got a question- Do the lower control arms on a one ton 2wd need to be centered on the bushings & shafts? I knew better than to trust some jackwagon to rebuild the front end on my truck, but I had too many things to do this week, while I was on "vacation", so I let this so-called "pretty good" shop do the whole front end, and I provided them with all the Moog chassis part #'s. Here's what I found- they didn't replace the inner tie-rods ( said my truck didn't have them), the passenger spring isn't sitting in the pocket squarely, so the passenger side looks a little high, the grease fittings are barely threaded on-you touch them and they fall off, the drivers front upper screw in control arm bushing sticks out about a 1/4 in more than the others, and when I crawled underneath after finding all this stuff, I'm looking at the lower shafts & bushings, and the drivers side has a gap at the front of the lower bushing, and the passenger side has a gap at the rear of the lower bushing and I'm wondering: shouldn't these be centered, or at least, spaced in the same direction? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

There are two types of buching arrangements and yours are the metal threaded type from your explanation. To answer your question quickly, YES the shaft should be centered between the arm and BOTH threaded in "bushings" should be tight up against the control arm. Lots of people have trouble with this because not only is the control arm threaded for the "bushing" but the shaft is threaded also which makes it challenging to install correctly unless you know what you're doing.

thanks for the response. I kinda figured that was the case, soooooo they'll be redoing those as well.
