Whats up fella's. I have started my Frame off resto on my 86 1 ton crewcab and in need of a lift kit. I am looking to lift the truck 8 inches with any blocks andood ride quality.I have 2 small children that will be riding in the truck. Can someone provide me with a good riding lift kit or how to piece together a good kit. The truck is mainly a road truck that will get used offroad occasionally. Thanks

what size tires are you going to run? a 8 inch lift will ride pretty crappy so if you could lower it down some it would ride better.

i would contact off road design to piece together a kit. but go with a shackle flip out back to get around 4 inches and then if you need another 4 find some used springs on here.

i got bds 8" front and 4" rear with 4" flip kit.

no shocks yet . parking lot hand bounce test its real smoth. not like any other i have had in the past.

i just put 8 inch skyjacker softrides on my 73 crewcab. im waiting for the shackle flip to arrive to do the rear. for the rear im just going to use a block to level the truck after the shackle flip.

I have Superlift 8"HD springs with a big block, soon to be Cummins, and they ride pretty good to me.

Welcome, Awesome build. Post pics when ya can. We all love crew cabs round here.

I went with the HD springs because of the Cummins and the pto winch I have for the front, but they ride good so far with just the 454. I have had them on there for about two years now.

I think the best thing you can do is put airbags in the back and just use a softer spring to make the ride nicer and rely on the airbag for load carrying capacity. This will require modifications to the airbags but they make kits for lifted trucks

In the front I think the maybe a 6" with shackles and a zero rate might work out to be a softer ride and would net you close to 8"s and move the axle forward just a bit to help with tire clearance
