    Got to remove the pinion...........

The housing is empty except for the pinion.

Stick something in the yoke to keep the pinion from moving on me. Check.

    1 1/18" socket?

Several long (4' to 8' lengths) of DOM and HREW for cheater bars.

Anything else I should worry about? This is going into a different housing so I shouldn't have to mark the nut in relation to the pinion, right?

    Thank you.

Marking the nut helps nothing...it's all in the pre-load and that can be different with the new crush sleeve. Make sure you have a new pinion nut, otherwise it will back off on you while you drive... a new one is about $4, cheap insurance.
