my 10 bolt rear end is gone so I was wondering how a 12 bolt rear end would hold up to 35s and if i realy would need to go with a 14 bolt rear end becuase i have a 81 full size half tonn with the 12 bolt and also how hard would it be to rebuild a np-208 t-case on my own when i have never taken one apart.

Well first off... the axle deal really depends on what kind of offroading you do... how much, how much power your motor is pushing, if you plan to run lockers, and how throttle happy you are. *whew* [IMG]

Overall if you plan to run a locker, have lots of power under the hood, and/or plan to rock crawl a lot I would go for the 14B FF and be done with it. Otherwise a 12B w/ some aftermarket axles and some other mods can work really well w/ 35's. There are plenty of guys running 12B's... I have one myself, but am very very tempted right now to switch to 3/4 ton. Another thing to think about is you'll probably want at least 4.10's for 35's and they are very tough to find in 1/2 ton axles... on the other hand they are a cinch to find in 3/4 ton and 1 ton.

A 208 tcase isn't super tough to rip apart IMO... just get some good info and a diagram and watch carefully as you take it apart. Why you want to rip the case apart?
