in process of changindg 10 bolt axles to 12 bolt and dana 44 .any probs i might run into?
my question is why swap in a 44?..the 10 bolt front is based on the same design as the 44 and not all that much stronger /forums/images/icons/confused.gif
From the looks of what he's swapping, probably to get a matching pair. /forums/images/icons/grin.gif
yup lol exact reason for the swap?? im cheap and housings were free!!!! looks pretty straight forward will try next week.
Not an issue. The 44 should bolt directly in place of the 10 bolt. Only issue may be brake lines. You may have to buy new flexible line (from frame to caliper) because the banjo bolts on the calipers are different.
brake lines are fine, just use the calipers off the ten bolt.
and remember this so when youneed to buy parts you know.

I changed my 10 front to D44 for gears and 8 lug and I just drilled the brake lines bigger for the D44 calipers
