Having a manual and wanting to loose my drum brakes i am left with a decision to make, loose the parking brake, use caddy calipers or a drive line ebrake. I choose to take a different route, i am going to use the drum in hat style that GM uses on its newer trucks with factory disk brakes in the rear.
So i have started to collect parts for this swap

This is all the main part needed they are the factory parts for a 2009 chevy truck with a 10.5 or 11.5 rear axle.

The back side of the parking brake assembly and caliper mount

The massive 2 Piston Caliper this is the same one used on the front of new half ton trucks

Brand new 14 bolt hub
I was lucky and got this stuff where i work for free, but just for fun i priced it out at a GM dealer and holy crap for one rotor they wanted $425
so this is well over $2000 worth of parts at GM dealer price
The flange on the newer 14 bolts is larger and closer to the hub than the older ones with drums, I have gathered the dimensions off the blue prints for the two different tubes and am going to design a spacer/adapter so i can bolt this directly to my 70's 14 bolt.
