14b ff or d70?

Sorry for the hijack. thought i cause a riot haha

I'll stick with my 16.5 rims then. I like em personally. The only ones i've ever saw around here

:Back to topic on hand:

42" tires or larger:

IROK's are available in 17 and 20"

LTB's have a bunch of sizes available in 17's including 40's and 47's

54" Boggers are available in 20" and 17" wheels, 37"x13" Boggers are also available in 17" wheels

42" TSL's are available with a 17" wheel, 44's don't appear to be.

In any case, Interco offers a fair amount of tires with the 17" wheels (and no 18" wheel options).

15", 16" and 16.5" still have more options.

got me again mr. hot pants

are you on crack...
H1's are a MILITARY rim... :doah:
:haha::haha::haha:

:haha:well if you just want the stock 31x10.50 "military" tire then i guess they do have military tires in 16.5" but not anything thats worth a crap:p:

if u want deeper or plan to eventually go deeper than 5.13s then get a 70. otherwise a guess a 14b makes more sense. i think 70s are badass cuz they are different and everybody and their mom has a 14b (including me haha).

dude...
you need to go visit a military base...
Seriously...

You want a set of 37's? say 50 bucks a tire...?
You have 7000+ posts... and you've never seen anything over a 31 inch military tire?

This is very true, the gearing part anyways. I actually think someone now makes up to 5.88 for the 14 bolt...???

just cause they are 50 bucks each doesnt mean they are good. Hummer tires SUCK! terrible on the road, terrible offroad

Well the guy's around here buy them up as fast as they gon on craigs list...

They use them on road (and off) on their lifted super duties...
Their not specifically for off-road use, there not designed for off road use...
but for what you can pick a set up for at 90%+ tread...?

Anyways...

I'd do a dana 70HD if i had a DRW front dana 60 and didnt want to swap hubs with H1's
(My setup)
If the dana 60 were SRW i'd stick to a 14 bolt with whatever wheel you want.

that is true, i forgot bout the tires that came on the h1's haha, but they arent that great. you mentioned the 47's and 52's earlier so i didnt think you were also talkin bout the 37's on the h1's, my bad.

i think what your think bout with the gears is 5.38's but you have to mod the housing, which is why i just said 5.13s instead cuz from what ive heard from the people who are running them, they are a pita. with the d70 tho you have to jump from 5.13's to 5.86, as nobody makes 5.38's for d70.

Just an FYI: the civilian model H1s started using 17" rims for the last several years they were offered. Granted I have yet to see a military H1 with anything but the 16.5's, but it wouldn't be any issue to switch them over if needed. However I doubt 16.5's will become extinct anytime in the near future simply because there is still a large market for them. If anything, I'm sure a company like Goodyear would continue to make 16.5's just for the military because I'm sure that is a big market.

I dont know where i saw they had some deeper gears for the 14 bolt... But i do recall needing to modify the housing...

Yeah i havent seen the military tires off road.. but the 52's i saw on a guy's rig looked big, heavy and the lugs were over an inch deep...
