14bff, 3.73 to 4.10

i got a gov locked 14bff with 3.73's been lookin in all the old posts and i couldnt find a definate awnser on weather i could swap 4.10s onto the gov lock

Yes ! The cut off point on 14FF's is 4.56 and up.

G/L makes no difference - the ring gear flange is at the same dimension on open and "posi" type carriers as long as both are for a 4.10 and numerically lower gear.

dammit , sorry to bug you again, but essentially i could go 4.56 or is that another carrier. i looked at your awnser and thought to hard and confused myself

Yes , the 4.56 will reqiure a new carrier if you are using O.E.M. gears . The aftermarket however does offer thick gears made for using your existing carriers .
