I'm looking for some 15" 8 lug steelies for my 14bFF swap. I've found a few places that sell them but they are only rated at 1500 lbs each all the other "normal" wheels are over 2k. will that be enough for my K5? loaded w/ tool/spares/passengers and going up hill.............what do you guys think. the brands are Unique (America's Tire/Discount Tire) and US Wheel. these are the regular looking white D spokes w/ red/blue pin stripes around (also have black, & chrome)

I also found on Pirate4x4 used H1 beadlocks w/ used 36's - 8 on 6.5, 16.5x9 w/ internal runflat rings that lock the beads. the stock backspacing is 7", but he can re-center to whatever I want (4.25") the tires are used goodyear 36x12.50's bias ply. I'm leery about the re-centering but looks like a lot of guys are running the w/ huge tires 40+. anyone have experience w/ these?

i know alot of guys on here have the 15" steels and they seem to hold up just fine. As soon as i get motovated im gona get my 1 tons under and get a set of 15" 8 lugs for my dana 60 & 14ff. u figure that 1500 per corner is a combined weight of 6000lb that should be fine for a normal wheeling truck, its not like you are gona be towing a 15000lb fifth wheel or anything.

yeah I do read about a lot of guys runnin them and don't seem to have any issues. I found out that those H1's w/ 36's weight 150 lbs each. my little 10 bolt front is gonna have a hard enough time wheelin on 35's, so looks like I'll get the 15" steelies for now.

I run them on my '90 Suburban and it weighs 6400lbs and it is my tow rig.
