Hey there fellow truckers. I have an odd questions that maybe someone can help me out with. A couple of weeks ago my truck was stalling whenever I kicked the motherfucker in reverse. I had no idea why and even went so far as to do a complete diagnostic work up. Well I took it to my local mechanic and he immediatley said that the House Reverberator is shot and the motherfucker costs over 600 dollars. Can someone explain to me what this part does and tell me if me and my buddies can fix it ourselves. I hate going to the mechanic because it is such a waste. I am somewhat of a greasemonkey and I'm very good at this sort of thing. Thanks for your time

When your reverberator goes it means it's time to find another mechanic.

Real trucks don't have spark plugs!

Sounds more like the Ball bearings in you Catylitic converter are bad.

4 wheeling is like sex, when its good, its really, really good, when its bad its still pretty good.

My 84 was diesel and I did quite a bit of work on it and don't recall a "house reverberator" (WTF) but I will check, the only thing i can think of is possibly and I usse this loosely, is that it could be the governor weight retainer ring in the injection pump. Yeah just checked Haynes, amazingly it isn't in there(house reverberator) was your pump ever rebuilt and what year is it? Might wanna find a mechanic without the tube of KY in his pocket, but I could be wrong.
