hey guys, i was wondering if gmc made any factory 16 inch rims that will fit my 91 1500 sub 4x4 with 15inch rims?
i talked to people on another forum and they said something about canters and offset but thats it. they didnt tell me if it would work.
thanks

Like these on this Blazer?? Believe they are 16's

I don't see why they wouldn't work on your suburban if you could find a set :dunno:

I run a set of 16" 6 lug steel wheels on my 85 K10. I got them off a 79 1/2 ton parts truck. They look to be a factory wheel designed to wear those little hubcabs(work truck style)but i have no idea what they originally came off of:confused:

i have a question on this topic, i have an extra set of stock 96 Tahoe 4x4 rims, will they fit on a 2nd gen 6 lug axle? i can see i would need different lug nuts w/ a bigger contact surface on the rim, also, if they will fit what lug nuts would i need?

Not sure about lugnuts but yes they will work. Any Chevy 6-lug will work from what i've seen. The lugnuts make the difference.

Same as I was gonna put the new chevys wheels (07 or 08)on my 94 and they woulda worked until the lift i got

You sure? Isn't the center hole on the wheel too small for the manual hub to fit through?

Also the half ton IFS rims have like 5.25" of backspacing so the tires would be WELL under the fenders and probably hitting steering/suspension/wheel well liner on turns.

That said I have seen 2wd IFS rims (5 lug) on 73-87(91) half ton 2wds. Small tires and no front hubs make that work.

you are correct and i should stop giving advice while i drink :doah:

Also i was thinking the other way around. The older ones will fit on the newer stuff

Eh, no different than putting most 15" rims with 3-4" of backspacing. Depending on the rim and the stance of the truck it doesn't look bad. Went to college with a kid with a 90's single cab flareside 4x4 on 33's using 80's Rallies. Looked good.

agreed. Guy at work had a 98 chevy with the 80's rallies and 31's and it looked pretty good. I've seen a few around here and like the way they look. I was gonna go that route with mine but i couldn't fit 15's on my truck with the lift i had installed

I think it looks horrible... unless your running wide tires to make up the difference. But most of the time you see it with stock tires.

Yeah, that would look pretty silly. I see similar a lot. 15" aftermarket rims that are way behind the times, cheap, and too wide with not enough backspacing on IFS trucks with 31's...when the stock tires were taller and probably wider than the ones they're running.

Like my little brothers truck?? It sits lower than stock and serves little purpose but he's 16 so... :haha:

Now my other brothers old truck had 33's atleast but the wheels were ungodly too wide. 12" i think :doah:

Hell i might as well throw mine in for good measure and to post whore a bit :rotfl:

ok back to regularly scheduled programming :doah:

Yup. My favorite was the guy with 31x10.5R15 all seasons on 15x8's that must have had like 3" of backspacing. Stuck WAY out, were at least 1-1.5" lower than the stock tires, barely any sidewall bulge, and rubbed because of how far out they were. He thought they were BADAZZ!

I hate to cut on a perfectly good truck. MY old stuff yeah cause it's alredy rusty so why not.

NOT my good one though :D

Eh, cut and do body work. More than enough folks have done it.
