In my shop. Doing stuff.
Work started last night on the tear down of the 39 donor truck. I can not believe that a 69 year old truck would unbolt. I have not had to get the plasma cutter out yet. It started as a complete truck. Hope to have the cab off by Sunday night.

First 2 pic's are of trying to winch the truck off of the trailer. It worked.

gotta love that cable operated mechanical (non hydro) brakes. Looks real good for a 69 year old rig.

what are your plans for that truck?

Going on a k5 chassis, 350 motor, th400, 205, doubler, 14bff and d60 both 456 detroit locked. Front dovetailed. Thats why I went with this year of truck. Chevy already dovetail the front. 4 link rear. 3 link front with panhard bar. Full hydro high steering, exo-cage, aluminum flat bed. I have not decided if I am air bagging or running coil overs. 42"s. Many other little things.

Thats what I want. Lets see what the wife says. She said yes on the last one.

I love you plan! I once saw an old '32 5 window ford that had a set of 60's and a big block chevy sitting on 44" boggers thing was just plain cool. I'll bet yours is going to be bad!

is there anyway to make the front fenders quick detatch? The idea is cool but you gotta love the old iron and pay respect.

I am looking into a set of rear semi fenders in fiberglass to narrow and mount on the spindles so they are hugging the tires, turn with them, keep Johny law happy and can be removed easily for wheeling.

I'd say subscribed as well, but since I'm also at least a moral participant in this mess, it's partially my fault! Guess the title cleared huh?

Not sure what you're looking at. The Fords are what had mechanical brakes back in that vintage. I see rubber brake hoses up front.
