1968 C10 DD, project "New Tricks"

Porterbuilt stuff for your truck?

already blew my wad with CPP :D

Can anyone suggest a place to get body mount bushing and ALL necessary hardware? ClassicIndustries has some, ORD has just the bushings, and I think there was another one I looked up. I want quality rubber for this truck (not poly like my blazer) and I'm missing/just want to replace what body hardware I have.

Edit for seat picture:

The axle is a eaton, you can beef them up with 14ff stuff but the bearings can be hard to find. There is a thread on them in the chevy section on pirate

How do I tell the difference between a 327 and 350?

I love driving this truck!!!! And as I check things out more and more, this sucker is optioned out!! No wonder it's peppy, damn thing has 4.10 gears and quite possibly a 327.

CList ad picture

I've got it back up on CList as a running chassis. I'm taking the cab, front, bumpers, and title. But I'm driving it till someone hands me money. Funny though, I've got someone interested (within 12 hours of listing) that wants to shorten the frame, run the driveline, and plop down some 1951 car body on the frame. Not sure which car though.

that is my truck :D Picked it up Sunday and falling in love with it ever since. The picture makes it look really nice, but the paint is pretty bad in some areas.

but I have a short bed frame and all these cool parts in my garage :woot:

I used LMC body mounts on my 1988 V10 Suburban, and they seemed like a quality kit.

Thanks guys. I'm getting an order ready for them. I'm trying to wait on buying the non-essential stuff as the money is needed for other things. It's hard though lol, I want new side markers and AC vents and and and :doah::haha:

I've found a local shop that makes aluminum gas tanks with stock style replaceable "in-tank" pumps that go under the bed. Gotta drive about 60 miles for it but doing so gets me a cash deal :D Might just do that on Saturday.

Also, I just learned how to turn on the dome light. IT WORKS!!!! :haha: Other than the HVAC and stereo....everything works on this truck. Crazy

I don't think Sokoloka needs the service, and I need 5x5.

Scouring CList, I want a deal on something cool. Postponing wheels as long as I can.

Dropped off the old 12b today to be used for sizing a new 9".
Is it worth the savings to run a factory posi or should I go with an Eaton posi like the one I have in my S10? (90,000 miles and going strong, very aggressive)

Edit: Can't teach an old dog new tricks. I'm thinking BS. So my Blazer is appropriately named "Bender", and I think the C10 will be project "New tricks". Considering what it will become :D

My Eaton clutch type posi has been great to me. I want something good and reliable, so I'm not arguing just asking, why should I choose a trutrack over the others?

Also.....

TrueTrac is all gears. No clutches to burn out, wear down, etc. As long as you don't somehow break it then it will keep on going.

Well, it will be a street driven truck, all day every day. Will have towing duties too. Other than a zo6 cam setup in the motor, it won't be a drag strip truck. (Other than a few times a year) :D
