My reservation with the 200r4 is having to deal with the TTV cable.
I never had issues with it in my 86 cutlassMy reservation with the 200r4 is having to deal with the TTV cable.
I was that way with the 700r4. Once it was set I never had a problem. My reservation with the 200r4 is having to deal with the TTV cable.
I totally agree. Mine was the oddest of them all using a 700r4 behind a 5.3 with cable throttle. Bowtie Overdrives is the only one that makes a kit for that combination so I got it. They had good instructions, parts were well made too. It was still a little finger puzzle to set up on the throttle bracket, but we figured it out. Once we set it right it worked like factory and never had a problem out of that transmission. They work fine on setups that came that way factory equipped. It's connecting them to aftermarket carbs and throttle bodies that I find more problematic; the geometry never seems quite right.
Now that you mention it, I do remember Bowtie Overdrives was the beat option for custom. I don't suppose there's a BOP electronic trans option.I totally agree. They do sell kits for different carb setups under the TV Made EZ line. Edelbrock, Holley, q-jet and demon. Comes complete with the cable and carb brackets. They are proud of the price but as I found it was worth it.
But everybody on the internet says that they are junk!! And no one ever concedes to what BS people do to them before they die. And no one will believe me about what a 700R4 put up with in Monte Carlo which has a little supercharger.Put a BOP to chevy trans adapter on it, and put a 4l60e trans in it

Chance is that it already has a really tall rear gear. With a th350 it is probably still good for 120. Might take a couple of miles to get up there but the math says it's possible.200r4 time. Although the o/d makes it a 120 mph cruiser with the low rear gear.
I've done a little searching for a 200r4 or 700r4 trans, but there aren't any around here. I haven't been able to find info on BPO donors for the 200r4 if I wanted to try the junkyard. So I'm planning to put the TH350 I have in the car. Plus having the adapter will make it easier to pick up an OD trans in the future.
