    It took me 3 years and budget mind set to get it on the road. I used a lot of refurbished, old, and junk yard parts to piece it together and make it reliable enough to drive daily. The engine we rebuilt bored .30 over with a mild cam and 9:1 compression, factory reman heads and standard accessories. Used most of the factory wiring except for the engine harness which was replaced with a reproduction from LMC. I ran a TH350 and NP205 with freshened dana 44 and gm 12 bolt. The 3.07 gears kept me from getting any speeding tickets.
    After a few months the weather got nice and well its a convertible so the top came off and that's when i truly fell in love.

    So I've been hunting for build pictures that I knew I took but it appears the ex might have a hold harddrive, so maybe one day Ill get them back. That being said I have a lot of wheeling pics that show the various additions in action.
    I hope you don't mind.

    Continuing with what I've got.

    Running on 35's and tall gears was fun for a while because its a convertible truck, how could I not enjoy it?
    After running around all summer like that I decided it was time to get a little serious. I still needed a front drive shaft and gears in both axles. weighing my options i got 4.56 gears for the 12 bolt first to be followed by the fronts. I took the truck to local offroad shop and they tore into the rearend only to find the pinion bearing on the 12 bolt had spun and wallowed out the housing enough it was now junk.
    It was one of those moment we are all to familiar with... that phrase made notorious by Greg - "Might as Well" . :D
    Upgrades happened. :weld::grind:
    We sourced a 14 bolt FF with 4.10s, angled and burned new perches on. Also since the rear was now 8 lug, new wheels and tires were needed. On went 37x12.50r16 Swamper Trxus MT tires.

    I ended up driving it with the 35s on the front and 37s on the rear for a month or two while I sourced a new front axle. Ended up with a 60 out of a forest service truck and scored that it was loaded with 4.56 gears already.

    Summer 2007 rolled around and I started working at 4 wheel parts. It was neat experience and I ended up with a lot of neat things after working there.
    I couldn't find a soft top that I liked(or could afford) but still needed something to help with the sun and the occasional rain shower. I found a bikini top for a cj7 was a little narrow but did the job.
    Having access to used parts from the shop and an open mind came up with a cold air intake from an 07 dodge ram intake tube.
    I also had a local alternator builder make me a 150 amp unit which you can see under the intake. Huge improvement over the 60 amp period correct one.

    Before I go to far I set up the suspension with 6"Tuff Country springs all around, used a Procomp drop drag link to connect the steering. I also put 2 inch blocks in the rear to get the ride level.

    Got 456 gears and a detroit for the 14 bolt and that's honestly been my favorite addition to the truck. Being able to get power down great.

    After getting the gears in the th350 just wasn't cutting it and a 700r4 was swapped in along with a new front drive shaft.
    Finally having 4wd it was time to use it. Moab is only 4 hours away so my old shop teacher, a good buddy and my new riding companion hit the road to red rock.

    Both friends were rocking Broncos with solid axle swaps done. They had to put up with me and my new fangled truck avenger carb. It said suited for off road but I've since learned.

    The next day was a little easier with some seat time and understanding how to wheel on slick rock.
    We tackled Poison Spider which has become my favorite trail I've been on so far.

    After that Moab trip I wanted to increase the capability of the truck and improve on the ride. The Tough Country springs are great and give a sturdy ride but were pretty stiff and lacked the flex I wanted.
    The debate was to Link the front and run Bronco coils / coilovers, or work with the leaf springs. I started searching for what others had done and thats when I found CK5. I started reading a ton and saw a lot of information on using 52" leafs. The cost and simplistic approach of using a few brackets and easily accessible springs made this option the top of the list.

    In the beginning of 2008 I ordered a set of DIY4X's B52 brackets and Procomp 52". 4" lift springs.
    Having access to the 4 wheel parts shop, I took a weekend and cut sooo many rivets off. Bolted on the brackets and springs. The results made me very happy. :D

    Crossover steering from Off Road Unlimited sorted out the directional needs and I fabbed up a tube front bumper to compliment and better protect the front end.
    In May 2008 My old shop teacher invited me to help chaperone a student trip to Moab, so of course I went with,

    The class that year had a lot of enthusiasm and some great rigs. We camped and wheeled for 2 days. There were also some interesting sites.
    The first day we ran down to Flat Iron.
