Im not sure if it is compatible but i was wondering if you could take the 1973-1979 dash board and install it in a 1985 k5 because my dash is trashed, need a new one and was wondering if it would be possible to install that style of rounder dash into mine, i really like the look better. Is it possible? if so how much modification is needed?

It was done when I got the truck. Only the dashpad was replaced from what I can tell, I know it is the original instrument cluster and I believe the dash panel is original too. I looks like it just bolted up where the old dash pad was.

The steel under dash framework didn't change in '81. Just a more square dash pad on the same frame.
