I found an RPO decode on a similar truck and it says the "491 Two Tone Paint" means it was burnt orange and white.

Yes, and I could buy that it's "burnt orange". Definitely looks orange.

So it’s a Minnesota truck? Cool

That’s how mine is, the cab top is the same as the middle of the fender

My hood was the same as the cab with 2 side stripes. Only available in 77 as far a I know. I suspect the hood being the cab color is as well.
    Maybe someone can clarify that.

Was it @dremu who posted the propaganda sheets for these?

Oh yeah, didn't even think about that too. In thinking about not getting too carried away with the cost and involved with a full wrap, I'm thinking I might use vinyl wrap to make the original 2-tone. I would have to think about if I was going to try to wrap the cab white. I do like the white cabs, but it would be tricky to wrap it.

No that's just an example of what this one should look like before it was painted eggplant.

No, it's there. 491 is listed with "Orange, Burnt". The 2 gold colors weren't an option with Avocado tho.

I found a build sheet for this 1982 C-10 an elderly friend had, under the seat springs,on the back part of the seat--I built the flat bed and did the rockers and floors over for him..
It was a rare truck, special ordered by a telephone company,it came factory equipped with a 250 straight six and a 5 speed manual, one that looked identical to the ones used in 70's Chevy Monza's that had the shifter made into the tailhousing of the tranny...also had 3:42 gears, which are not very common.. 1982 C-10 2wd pickup.jpg

The last 6 digits of the VIN are serial numbers that I think were sequential so it might have been pretty late in the year.

Funny thing the GM nerd in me noticed looking at the SPID label. The model number listed above the left-hand column. CC10903. 2wd (CC), 1/2 ton (10) long box (9) regular cab (03). They still use the same way today except they added for the extended cabs (53) and super short box (5). They still use CK for 4wd, 43 for Crew Cab and 7 for the normal short box.

A couple of years on the order management side of GM tends to burn the concept into one's brain for sure.

The only time they messed with with CK thing was 89-91, right? When they threw the V and R in there for the square bodies?

I did find it interesting searching for vehicles to see what people use for model designation, ie C10 or C1500. I found 70's trucks listed as C1500 I figure because that's the way they are classified now. I also found a few 4x4's listed as "C" trucks.
