1973 k5 Quarter Panel

I am still in parts collecting mode. I have substantially everything I need to get the chassis stripped and built back up. I will then move to the body, which only needs new front floors and that passenger rear side replaced.

I've never done a car restoration before so I'll probably make it to the body in the year 2037. That is a conservative estimate of course. :)

Seriously, I would like to get to the body some time early next year.

10 years? That is what I’ve got ahead of me?

I told my wife last night I’m a bit worried my timeline was a bit aggressive.

Its been 10 years since I did that...it wasnt the taking off and putting back on, its the panel alignment that takes the time

I know its been a minute or two since we visited the topic of rear panels but want to get advice, if possible, on the below listing:

Driver's Side Rear Panel

Drinker's Side Rear Panel

The website shows that both are in stock but I'm going to call tomorrow morning. Anyone have any familiarity with Classic Heartbeat? I've been Googling for a few years and this site never showed up so I assume they are new listings.

Here is another listing from Classic Truck. Also shows to be instock.

I'm noticing new 73-75 items that have been unavailable now showing up. For example, I needed a bezel and AMD just released one that is period correct. Maybe supply chains are loosening up??

Notice when you go to the link it says it fits 73-80 Blazer...that not really possible without some modification which its what I had to do. I got mine from LMC back in 2010 or 2011 and they don't fit the B-pillar without some modification to the quarter panel brace...at least mine didn't. But you really don't have any choice, I would guess that there aren't a set of genuine GM quarter panels for 73-75 in existence.

My bad...those were just "tags" that said 73-80. Maybe they have gotten a better pattern that is closer to the 1973-75.

Here is the story for anyone interested in these panels.

KeyParts is the manufacturer.

Key said they are sold out as of today but another shipment is coming in May.

They gave me Motor City K5 and said that they may have some left in stock. So, called them and I got their last set. The guy I talked to said the panels look good. They got a set in last summer and said they look good and fit well but did have one or two very minor issues. He said there was something that was welded in the wrong spot on the panel that effects how a bolt hole lines up on the tailgate post. But said it wasn't a big deal from what he remembered.

i paid for mine about 2 weeks ago. motorcity k5 told me today that he's just waiting for more orders to fill up a trailer and justify getting them shipped to him and they should be in in the next week or two. he told me i got the second to the last set

Update: the panels have shipped. The shipping charge was quite a bit and I contemplated ordering from Outback here in Houston. But I didn't want to give these up and take a chance that I am not able to get them in May when they supposedly come back into stock. Delivery is Monday!

Received the panels yesterday. They look great. It will by many months before I know if they fit or not but they do look good. I'll be interested to see what other have to say who also bought them.
