1974 k5 vortec swap

I have a 1974 k5 and i bought a 2000 vortec 5.7 and 4L80 trans complete with wiring harness and computer, does anyone have any information or know where i could get some for the electrical connections or on the whole swap.

not really sure. Maybe www.fullsizechevy.com those guys are mostly into the Vortec rigs. If you have the harness it should be easy. Just find where all the connections go(for the most part they usually can only go ONE place). If you get this done post up about it, I'd love to see it.
 
why would he need a standalone harness? He has his computer setup, he has the electronic controlled transmission, all he needs is a VSS setup for whatever transmission he runs, O2 sensors in the proper places in the exhaust and it should be ready to go. Standalone would only help if he had just the motor.
 
vortec swap

I did a '98 5.7 vortec into my '85 K5. Love it. Only 4 wires to hook up for it to run. The rest is for gauges (oil, temp, batt.). I'll get the phone #'s tommorrow.

so that if he dosent want to find all the wires in the stock harnness or its been cut up in removal. and its just the wire harness not the computer and other parts. just a idea thats what he asked for. sorry!

These price's are about a year old. April 04'. Works well I like how they preform. Ease of installation.
