Located in Fort Collins, CO. I have a '75 K5 Blazer that I either need to sell or get serious about fixing up. It has a new 350 motor from Chevy Performance, Edelbrock 650 cfm carburetor (I have the original carb that ran fine in the garage if anyone is interested), new headers and dual Hooker exhaust. new fuel pump, new water pump, all new hoses, etc. The truck runs great. The body has a few rust spots in the usual places as seen in the pictures. It looks like someone rubbed the front end between two trees, leaving marks on the fenders. It was like that when I bough it, so I don't know what happened there.

I am asking $6000, but am open to feedback on if this is too high / too low. I would also welcome any thought / inspiration on fixing it up. I love the truck, but don't quite have the garage time or mechanic know-how to own a 38 year old truck.

I think you would be hardpressed to get close to that number in the current condition.

But it is definitely fixable and could probably get to that point.

If you were selling in the Midwest where rust has destroyed every pre-1975 K5, then I'd say you could get around $4k (if you're extremely lucky) since it has a new engine, but only if people who know a little bit about these trucks are the ones buying.

In the west where you are, I'd say it might bring $2500. That's just a wild guess.

People are going to barf at $6k for a truck with old paint, rust, and dents, no matter the mechanical condition. It sucks but that's just the way the market is.

I'd recommend listing it for $3500 and taking $2500 because that's what you'll get a lot of offers for.

I've never been able to sell a 73-87 truck, 4wd or 2wd, regardless of condition, for anything over $3k. And I've probably bought and sold over 20 in the past 10 years.

PS: Please do not take offense. This is not a personal attack on your truck. In fact, it looks like a great vehicle and I would love to have it. I'm just giving you my objective opinion based on personal experience and also factoring in your location and the availability of similar trucks in your area.

Certainly no offense taken. Like most of our projects, that is somewhat less than what I have in it. I was wondering if I could sell it so anything like a down payment on something new, but what I am hearing, and what I will tell my wife, is that its not worth selling - might as well keep it as a toy.

I've always has a soft spot for that year, but even so, I would be hard pressed to go more than $2k-$2500 as it needs so much work. If I thought it would make the trip, I'd be tempted to fly in, visit my daughter at CSU, and drive it home..

Nope not worth selling. Keep it fix it. I have seen ( around Idaho) similar trucks they go for a grand or 1500 last one I bought a while back was in better shape and I only paid 500 bucks for it

Yeah, not to be a dick, but I wouldn't go over $1,000 for that.
