1977 Silverado Crew Cab.

Picked up a set of rear doors last night. Perfect condition but dirty for $25 for the pair and they were already off the truck! Friends in high places! The driver side one is the only one that really needs replaced. The passenger side one I just got so I could have matching factory tinted glass.

Those doors are 82 and up? Isn`t the glass slightly thinner than 77.

Something like that. I know the doors themselves are the same from 77 up. But I do think I'll have to use the 80 something and up seals.

You think thats fancy, I also replaced the door light switches! So now the dome light comes on when i open the doors! That's fancy!

I don't know anyone with a square body that has a working dome light (including me) so I'd consider that an accomplishment

It's funny too cause I also replaced the ones in the burb recently after they haven't worked in about 4 years. They are like $5 each and take about 2 min each to replace. It's so nice! Why did something so simple take so long to fix!?

Right now, the truck, while bueatiful in my eyes, is viewed as an eye sore to the general public. Not that i care a whole bunch what the general public thinks, but its not fun to know that everyone is thinking your rig is a **** box. I would ratrher folks in general just didnt think about it all. And thats what im trying to achieve with the paint.

EXACTLY!!! this is how i feel about my suburban, the biggest issue i have with it is the body. i'm going for the same thing, i wanna blend in.

Blending in is nice! I dont want to be flashy, i dont want to have "patina", i dont want a crap box, I just want the general public to not even notice me on the road and the folks that know better to think, thats a clean old truck.

The same reason my dad had a bungee cord on the battery in my 82 for 10 years.... He was amazed the fix was 5 dollars.:haha:

Oh that reminds me, i ordered a new battery tray from LMC the other day. Hopefully it will be here friday. This truck didnt even have the hanger to hang the battery tray so i had to order both pieces. Right now the battery is held in place with wedged in cardboard and pixy dust!

Drove to work today with 4 wheel discs! All is well but I do think it still needs a new master. The pedal behaves in the same way it did with the drums where at a stop light pressure bleeds off and you start creeping forward and have to press down more.
