Question on the stupid smog port / air pump holes in the exhaust manifold.

Got the plugs out, does any one know what thread they are? None of my taps fit which is how I usually figure it out.
If I can’t find plugs I’m gonna just weld closed the ones I took out and reinstall them.

Also, will it hurt anything to leave the pump installed? I thought bout trying to just get a smaller belt and bypass it but I may not dick with it for the time being.

Friend of mine has been running his smog pump with nothing attached to it for a year or two. I’m amazed it hasn’t seized yet but it’s still going

1/4 18tpi I believe. Probably wrong but that’s what I think they are?

I never even bothered. Just welded them up this afternoon.
Gonna smooth them with a flap disc and put them back in the holes. Just had to last til I do the bbc.

Small progress today.

Been working on my Cummins DD. 08 mega cab. Bought it in November and since then have done a fully built trans, efilive, dpf/egr delete and full intake manifold w/ intercooler tubes.

Now that the distraction on that is done it’s back to working on the k20.

Haven’t had an issue yet, but mostly because my transmission made it about 3 miles before the od clutches went.

Used anarchy efi.
one thing that I didn’t documented anywhere until afterward, when you upload the tune you have to baby the truck for like 30-40 miles so the trans can relearn. I went out and immediately did some big Smokey burnouts and smoked my od clutches immediately. Which shouldn’t have cuz plenty of people make it plenty of time in stock trans.
I just got the rebuild back but I’m gonna get anarchys pcm tuning as well (07-09 6.7 have separate pcm from ecm so the standard tuning doesn’t fix trans). The stupid thing is it shifts into 6th gear at like 40 and just soft shifts and bigs down way too often. I want my shift points moved further up and to hold more pressure on my upgraded clutches.

Gotcha, I have the G56 so I should be ok. Definitely gonna need a clutch after though from what I've seen.

Oh not even pretend. The stock autos may hold but the stock clutches do not. On my 02 I had the 5600 and smoked a few stock clutches before I went to a Valair ceramic. Def do the hydraulics upgrade as well but I miss the grab of a strong clutch with power

Haven’t been able to do a whole lately as the wife and I have been looking at newer houses. Did get a few hours this afternoon. Got all of the wiring done for the fitech.
Got the fuel lines ran from the engine bay back.

Need to get the tank installed, finish plumbing and run power to the pump and figure out how to get the fuel filler sorted out.
