1982 Chevy K30 Dually

Yep, blazers with lifts is where you run into problems. He'll be fine running an od box on that beast.

Congrats on the sexy truck btw!:pimp:

Need input on tires... it currently has 215/85R16's on it. I need something taller and I know 235's will fit, next size up from there is a 255/85R16. Anyone know if they will fit on a dually without rubbing? Local tire shop is willing to test fit and check for me today as well. But, once I do that I am committed to buy 6 tires. The old ones have dry rot and they won't re-mount them.

Hight. I once upon a time ran 255/85R16 Remmington Mud Brutes on my 80 chevy 3/4ton 4x4 pickup. All stock including the wheels. The tires although well worn still rubbed the fenders every time i pulled into a driveway or anything like that. It was worse when i finally bought a new set and a set of aluminum wheels! Then, all the self clearancing the tires had done before wasnt good enough!

Here is a pic of the truck. Doesnt look like they would hit but they did!

Stuck a six inch lift on it later to take care of the problem!

Just put an zero rate in the front and move the axle forward away from the fender.

After doing some more looking around, I found 245/70R19.5's in a Toyo M608Z for about $1200 more than going with 235/85R16's. 33.2" OD x 9.4" wide. I won't need spacers with these tires. Just another used set of wheels.

Was going to say...my Blazer has 33x12.5's on wheels with the factory width and backspacing and only lightly rubs on hard turning while backing into my driveway. That's with tall and wide tires and 200,000 mile saggy springs.

I'm betting with narrow 33's and at most minor trimming of the lower rear edge of the fender lip he can run them just fine.

Easily, I've run narrow 33's on aftermarket wheels and stock height before. A few taps with a hammer on the lower back lip takes care of any issues. Doesn't even look like you bent the lip if you are careful.

Getting some breadvan wheels or something?

I am looking into it at this point. The tires I am considering recommend 7.5" wide wheels and the used ones I found were only 6" wide. New wheels are $1200 for 6 and make the entire purchase as much as I paid for the truck itself. I definitely have some hunting to do.

Here is a picture of a 83 dually with 19.5s on it. I don't remember the sizes anymore but they didn't rub from what I remember and mine also had the heavy 6.2 up front.

I love the way 19.5s look but I would be worried about the ride quality of the tires, especially if you will not have a load on them!
