I won't do retreads, but I am leaning towards 255/85r16 right now. Once I get the new starter installed, I will start looking closer at tires.
I am only thinkin of them because I have had so many of my friends use them without any trouble.
Picked up new tires on Friday. Dean tire SXT MT LT255/85R16's on stock wheels.

I installed a new gear reduction starter and a speedo cable today. Those were the only real issues keeping me from driving it everyday. I also removed a cassette player and a couple miles of extra wires. Some of the backyard wiring splices are going to need to be repaired properly before I am done. I still have the dash pad and bezel off to take measurements for a new gauge layout.
This summer I plan to replace the interior and change it over to grey buckets and some dirt friendly floors.

Not a fan of the grandpa toppers but the truck still looks good!
It rains to much around here to not have some form of covered cargo area. Since I am selling the Suburban, I need it for hauling hay and the dogs now. But, I think this one actually looks good on the truck even though it was made for a newer model and isn't a perfect fit.

Spent the afternoon installing new glow plugs, vacuum pump, and alternator/ps belts. It nice to have a working defroster and have the truck start up instantly again.

I put her to work today.
First we picked up 1.5 yards of gravel for filling some pot holes in the barn driveway. I think the operator added more than I expected. It should have been about 3500 lb on the top end, but he had my trailer bottomed out on the bump stops so I had to take the back roads back to the barn to drive slow.
After that was unloaded, we headed back out for a load of shavings for horse bedding. This stuff was a lot easier on the trailer, even with it being full to the top of the lumber rack.
But, on the way home with this load I noticed the alternator was no longer charging. The lower pivot bolt sheared off in the block and I had to pull the belt and drive home on the battery.
