1987 V10 K5 Blazer

Rusty, just the way I like them.
You weren’t the only one who thought that. Although I was hoping to see a viper engine in the first pic.

Just like I remember, TPI will roast tires at will, for as long as you want it to.

The Gov-Lock works.

It still has an intermittent no spark issue. Always has 12v+ at the coil. I’ve swapped coils, that changed nothing. I think it just needs a different distributor.

Nice!

:burnout: :woot:

Installed a new distributor, that has so far fixed the intermittent no start issue.

I get that they don’t want you to remove the ICM, but maybe don’t apply the sticker to the distributor cap.......

My new issue is that I don’t know who did this swap, and I don’t know where they put the timing wire disconnect. I found a brown wire with some spade connectors in , behind the driver side cylinder head, so I thought that was it. I disconnected them, and set the timing.

It was not. It was hard to start (had to give it some throttle), did not want to stay idling, and was very short on power. I just advanced the timing a little more, but I need to figure out the correct wire, and set it correctly.

I also removed the running boards, and power washed it.

I found the EST connector. Under the dash. Had to pop the glovebox down, and reach back into the black hole!

Set the timing. Now it needs an O2 sensor. Runs really bad when it warms up.

Also the windows don't roll down. So I fixed that.
