Got a new grille and noticed a park light bulb is out. When attempting extraction the bulb broke and nothing seemed to budge what was remaining of the bulb.

This is the bigger light on the outside, not the 194 push in bulb.

Seems like i'm missing something??

It happens. Make sure that you are wearing eye protection and dig at it with a pick or small screwdriver. Check the terminals after you get the pieces out.

I've had bulbs trapped in rusted sockets so badly there was nothing left of the socket by the time I got the remains of the bulb out more than once..salt and water does them in..

I got lucky and found a "good used" socket at a boneyard to replace one tail light socket that was corroded beyond repair...though most can be bought aftermarket ,there are so many variations and oem ones seem to last longer is why I go looking for used ones...sometimes vehicles other than a square body used the same sockets,so I don't limit the search only to square bodies..

The strange thing though is this truck isn't rusty at all. I have no idea what is keeping it in there. Might just be corrosion from the park lamp getting fogged up I suppose. It looks like one of those big plastic terminal bulbs found in newer vehicles but I have no idea what the other end looks like yet.

I had considered buying a new connector.. but i'll keep trying.
