Toyota's are great I’ve had plenty of them back in the day. Don’t even think about getting rid of the 22re get it running smooth and get used to the lack of power. Super reliable!

I had one of these way back when. Sunk it completely under water in the river one night. After I dried it out for a few days and changed all the fluids, i put another 150K miles on it. Good times.

Bypassed the relay and fuel pump fired up. Bought a new battery and hooked it up. Starter clicked. Bypassed everything and shorted the solenoid and it clicked but no spin. Motor spins with a pipe wrench so it’s not froze. Looks like it’s time for a new starter.

Gotta love gremlins from stuff sitting. If you really want to I bet you could maybe pull the starter and try to take it apart and clean it up.

I was telling a buddy of mine I’m glad everything on my blazer is brand new haha.

I might do that to keep as a spare but probably just going to buy a new one.

Decided to tear the starter apart. Bendix was stuck. Spun freely but wouldn’t move. Soaking it in some simple green and working it back and forth and it’s freed up nicely. Gonna slap some grease in it and reassemble and see what happens. It’s a reman’d unit anyways so if it doesn’t work then meh. A brand new AC Delco is only $90.

What’s everyone recommend for grease in the bearings? Need to add some back after the bath in simple green and some scrubbing.
