1990 K5 Blazer Project "Side-Chick"

Aptly named because this project is taking all the time and money that should be spent with my family, LOL! The plan for this truck is going to be an adequate trail rig thats still nice enough, and comfortable enough for my family to enjoy with me.
I don't remember the years but it's the older versions that still use the GM style Saginaw steering column. I want to say '95 and older.

The ones with the TJ style dash don't fit because the column changed.

Takes about 15 minutes in the boneyard to get one out. Spent more time in line waiting to pay than it did to pull the part.

Trying to dot some Ts and cross some Is for inspection. Trying to get the horn working. Looks like PO unplugged the wire, and I have no idea where it goes. Wiring is not my strong point. Any ideas? Anyone have a good wiring diagram? Black wire/green stripe.

Looks like a lot of fender trimming. Truck is looking good!
Thanks man! Yeah, looks like I'm chopping about 4" from the front. Haven't backed up the ramp to check the rear yet.

Wish me luck! I've never hacked fenders before, so I've been studying like a demon!

I kinda want to try sectioning the fenders like this:Screenshot_20210728-220728_Facebook.jpg

So, now I'm looking for another donor fender.

What are you doing with the inner fender wells?
Probably gonna run without for a hot minute.

These ones are toast. I ordered some new ones, and ill try to section them out to make them fit. I don't have the skills to make custom ones from scratch.

This is the first time I've ever done anything like this. I'm happy with the fit up. But I'm getting frustrated. Some areas are pretty flat and look good. Others, it looks like the panel shifted while I was tacking. Is this something a body guy could fill in and blend with filler? Or do I need to cut it out and start over?

I'm under no misconception that this will be a top tier show truck. But I'd like it to look "good enough" from 10 feet away. LOL!
