Looks like the heat might have warped the panels a bit. Grind it, and hit it with some filler, and sand away with a block and it should be ok.

Aptly named because this project is taking all the time and money that should be spent with my family, LOL!
The plan for this truck is going to be an adequate trail rig thats still nice enough, and comfortable enough for my family to enjoy with me.

I figured that may be the case. I really have tried to be careful. About 6 spot welds at a time, and let cool for 10-15 mins before repeating. Maybe I just got too hasty, I dunno.
I'll give it a whirl with some filler after I get it all sealed up. Thanks!

Heat is a persistent enemy. When MIG welding sheet, I would air quench (air gun off compressor) every third tack or so. I now TIG most stuff, but still air quench after every 3/4”of weld, and weld out of order. The joint will shrink in the direction you’re welding, so plan your pattern around that.
Spacing out tacks, going slow, air quenching, and even grinding tacks as you go all keep that to a minimum. But, you’ll still have to bump and shrink once it’s all done to get it smooth.
For the welds that are done, you’re well l into the “grind them smooth and bump” phase of the project.
Time and patience are the primary tools. Keep going. You’re doing great.

Well, I definitely have alot of practice to do before I will call myself a "paint and body guy". But I think I have achieved "good enough from 10 feet".

Just a quick drop in to let y'all know that I haven't forgotten about y'all. Some personal stuff has been kicking my a$$ the past few months. I've made small progress on the Blazer, but nothing really note-worthy.
I tried the wrap and failed miserably. But Ill try again soon. once I get the other fender done, I plan to get the truck out and stretch its legs a little to give it a shake down run. That should yield some good pics to share.

I found a soft topper on offer up. It was such a good price, I thought it was a scam. But I met the guy and inspected the parts. It was brand new in the box. I couldn't pass it up.

I've heard the wait time is crazy right now. I've been on the fence about ordering one for a while. Just because the price was so high. But now seeing it person, it's definitely worth it. You won't be disappointed.
