1993 Suburban (Savalanche)

1993 Suburban (Savalanche) picked up for cheap and going to have fun with it!
Nate forgot to mention a few things- we went to look at it on our way to a job so we left it at the shop and picked it up later. I kept the guy busy talking while Nate checked it out. We came back about 1:30 and the guy is drinking beer- I was jealous. We ratchet strapped the hood down and drove off. We had about a 20 mile drive, as soon we pull out I realize it has no working taillights or brake lights. We were told the suburban started life as an ambulance in Winterpark Colorado.

Got an open weekend to knock out some work on the Savalanche. Thank you to @doubletrouble and his son Justin for helping out. We first tackled figuring out and getting rear tail lights working. Justin worked on stripping rear interior out and vacuuming out the inside. Jason tackled checking over the motor, writing a "To Do List" and removing the ac system and checking over front end. I fixed the RR window regulator and door lock. Justin removed coolant lines running to the rear of the truck. We now have a list of parts to buy and to repair. Coming along nicely I must say. Does anyone have a winch mount install idea or have a winch mount? I do not want a whole bumper nor the rough country winch mount.

I bought a Smittybilt winch plate and trimmed it to fit in my frame on my K5. It's still there and holding up well

Ridiculous. That’s a Nate truck if I ever saw one. I like the fact they chopped the barn doors down.

In for the insanity. Keep at it boys.

I have seen a few videos of people using the harbor freight winch plate and mounting it to the top of the frame rails and mounting the winch underneath it. Simple cheap and easy I just wonder about the strength

Are you closing in the back or leaving it open? If open it needs half or tube or no doors. Looks like a lot of fun!
