Like the title says, I'm considering swapping to EFI with one of the bolt on kits. Has anyone done this or know of anyone who has. Which one work with minimal issues, which ones should I stay away from. I have a 72 blazer 8in lift 37s, currently running 4.10 gears plan on finishing the 14bff and Dana 60 before the summer cones back with 4.56 gears. 383 stroker with a th350 with stage 2 shift kit Goin in next month. Thanks in advance
Scott

Is this the newest one from Holley? https://www.holley.com/products/fuel_systems/fuel_injection/sniper_efi/

I saw it somewhere, it's everything in one apparently. Good and bad with that, the bad I see is that compared to this one https://www.holley.com/products/fuel_systems/fuel_injection/terminator_efi/ I don't see mention of serviceable components. If something fails, is the whole unit junk then? The good is that you eliminate a whole ton of wiring and routing issues.

Outside of that problem, the Sniper would seem to be a very easy EFI solution, assuming it gets good reviews when consumers start actually using them. Not sure what would be easier or cleaner in terms of install.

What you go with is going to depend on your power goals and budget.

As long as you aren't going too crazy, Howell Injection makes a great kit, and it's based off the TBI system, so everything fits, parts are easy to source and cheap, and the customer service is second to none.

How is the 383 built, that would determine the kit you need. Self tune may not work, stock TBI may be too small........ Many factors that are not described by aftermarket kits.

Case in point. Customer that was at TTC this year has a 632" BB in his blazer. Was told the fast ez efi kit would work with it. Not a freaking chance. Cam is too big, not enough CFM...... He tried any way. Pulled it off at TTC for a carb. He is now going multiport with a dom pattern throttle body that can flow 2000cfm, 1000cc injectors to tune for e85 and a different ECM.....

Many factors determine what kit. They are not all SELF TUNE even though they claim. SELF TUNE does not work on all engines.

Sadly I'm relatively new to all of this and I didn't build the motor. When i dynoed it at school with no lift stock 31x10.5R 15 tires and factory axles with stock gears. The motor out somewhere around 440 torque to the wheels and around 400 hp. I don't know enough about carbs to get mine right and the places we have been with other carbed trucks they stall out on steep inclines and sideways hill climbs. I'm tryin to avoid these issues that are common with carbs rigs
