2003+ Alarms

Yo Guys,

I've installed an alarm or 2 in the past, but this newer 2003+ body control stuff scares me.

I know i need a bypass kit to interface with the locks, etc.

Is it worth adding an alarm to the factory keyless, or should I just go full aftermarket?

Have loved my audiovox prestige alarms in the past, better suggestions?

Please don't. I fix a lot of newer cars that have had alarms of all types installed and usually end up having to remove or disable the alarm system to get the vehicle back up and working properly.

I have also have fixed cars with alarm systems that were still broken into and had significant damage/theft done. I always wonder why invest the money and effort into something that causes grief and is only a minor inconvenience to the bad guys.

I set off some sort of factory alarm the other day. Not sure how.

Still want to do this, but have other priorities right now.
